My Detective Lieutenant was out 9 of 11 days - dawn to noon...and the same freaking thing!

[quote]TheRomer (5/11/2008) Dear NY911bowhunter,
Sorry to disappoint you the last two weeks, but I had other plans that unfortunately did not include you.
The fact that I did not return your calls is that I did not like what you were saying.
Where did you learn to talk turkey?
A couple times you almost had me convinced by stating out “Hey, big boy come see what I have for you”. Pretty seductive tone too. But then I heard a screeching noise that sounded like “I’ve got a nice broad or broadhead for you” Now “broads” I know about, but I did not think I wanted to meet a broadhead.
Then I heard some HUMAN sounds!! Someone muttering under their breath - #@&*%$#(*&^% Turkey!!
Good ears, eh? Now that didn't jive “Hey, big boy come see what I have for you”, so I went elsewhere
Meeting with my buddies? Sure, we do that every day after the gals have went home. Just like any gang of teenagers we have to compare notes on who was best and what we did and didn’t do. I’m sure that you were a teenager once and know the “score”:.
As for as meeting you this morning - Sorry I do have other plans. Little Jake told me he got lucky with Henny Penny yesterday and she was something else. I’m heading over to see her this morning. I cant wait!!
Maybe next year…..
BTW – I did hear where Kroger has ButterBalls on sale…
Sincerely,
Tom

Well.. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one as well having problems with these turkeys. I was out all of last weekend and only heard one gobble all weekend! One courtesy gobble on the roost saturday morning. I couldn't even get a bird to gobble out of my mid morning spot. This season really sucks so far.
Don't get me wrong, I called one in for my buddy on opening day, but since then it's just sucked.
Joe
