Thanks for all of the comments fellas.
I sit here and re-read and remember the hunt like it was this morning. All of my past three successful seasons have hunts etched into my brain including some that didn't end up getting me a bird but were non-the-less a success and filled with great enjoyment for me.
My first bird was sort of a similar deal, Dave got a hot gobbler to respond to the call, set down and waited. 5 gobblers came out of that creek 15 feet in front of me and I smoked #1 boss hog!
Last year, I had an awesome hunt with two birds in range but no shot. What a blast! Then my buddy Dave called in two birds two days later and I scored.
Now this year, my first solo bird. I went back to the scene of the crime with RiverRat. He seen all the junk I had to shoot through...what a deal!
Man I love this sport!
