Sunday AM I had an odd sounding hen talking a bit...yea, not a hen but two other hunters. I thought they were on the neighbors place, turns our they were tresspassing, they left and I moved spots. Ended up heading home and 50 yds from my first spot there were 3 toms. They wouldn't answer a call so I left them for another day!

Monday AM, I set up on a trail I've seen turkeys use, I knew there were back on the mountain but it was too cold or I didn't sound right, they didn't come down! Made LOTS of noise but wouldn't come off the hill. I had to get to work so here I am.

Here's some pics from both days.

Eh.. just stick it out. Breeding is picking up daily and by next weekend, it'll be at its peak. Which means we really won't get much out of them. You'll get a few courtesy gobbles, but that'll be about it. Late mornings will be hot during peak breeding and all morning will be great come late season. I almost like late season hunting better than early season.

IMO, late season is better because our season starts too let to really have an early season...either way, they are not coming to calls...no worries, we have all month, I just like getting out there every day and seeing things like I did this AM...

see Day 6!
