Kentucky, I have that same gun...If I'm not mistaken you can get stocks at places like Sportsman Guide, Cabela's, and plenty of others. Also I think it is the paratrouper model. Does yours have the bayonet on the gun?

It is an airbourne modle. It is also used as an infantry
recon issue and for special security type units.

Mine is 20" with the "star bladed" bayonet, 30 rounder.

Mine is stamped....... NORINCO CHINA POLY USA ATL GA.............. and also has some chinese letters stamped on it.

Is there any good cheap scopes and mounts for these??

If you guys do swap some parts around DON"T toss the original pieces. Some day you may want to put it back to original.

There's all kind of accessories you can get for them. Sportsman's warehouse is a start but don't stop there. I've purchased some parts from Copes and had a satisfying experience, link below. There's lots more distributers out there.

thanks everyone.you have hit it on the head. it is a paratrouper. i sanded of the finish and used my dremel tool sander to make the hand hold a little more confortable. read on the sks site and found that the modle 56 stock is made of tealwoodfrom africa. won't warp or bugs won't eat it. smelled oil when i was sanding it and to find out ,tyhe stocks are dipped in oil to get them prerared for all type of weather during battles.
